Sam Ross is an Award-Winning Entrepreneur, Graphic Designer, Branding Specialist, Philanthropist, and Mental Health Advocate.
Having a number of innate talents in the arts, Ross, a native of small-town Greensburg, Louisiana, has known creativity to be his passion since early childhood. It was during his collegiate tenure around 2009 that Ross began designing professionally. What started as him designing graduation invitations for a few college friends would birth, what is now, Sam Ross Designs, and flourish into a business that would amass a roster of notable clientele from coast to coast.
In 2018, Ross created the Sankofa Scholarship, geared towards awarding first-time college students enrolled at Southern University. The scholarship is awarded annually to a freshman that demonstrates academic excellence and leadership qualities.
In 2019, Ross was awarded by The Rouge Collection, a media outlet founded by notable advocate/activist, Gary Chambers, Jr., as one of 28 Black Leaders and Influencers in the city of Baton Rouge. That same year, Ross was also awarded “Outstanding PR Alumni” by the Southern University and A&M College Department of Mass Communication for outstanding alumni achievement in Public Relations. Ross also had the distinguished honor of being celebrated as one of Southern University’s Top Forty Under 40 in 2019.
In Ross’ professional experience, he has been employed by the Louisiana House of Representatives, WBRZ-TV, and the Southern University Ag Center.
Ross is a 2012 graduate of Southern University and A&M College, where he earned a degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. Ross had the distinct honor of graduating as Student Marshal of the College of Arts & Humanities for having the highest overall GPA. During his collegiate tenure, Ross was also awarded “Outstanding Capstone Skills Award” for academic excellence by the SU Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America.
Ross attributes any and all success to his faith in God, never giving up, and leading his life with optimism, light, and love.
